Position Title: Director of Finance
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations
FLSA Status: Exempt: NonUnion
JOB GOAL:
This position is accountable for serving the district in all matters related to financial services under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations and in accordance with appropriate statutes regulations and School Committee policy.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Director of Finance reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance are the Special Education Finance and Operations Manager (1) Payroll Specialist (1) Financial Analyst (1) Finance Assistant (1) and Accounts Payable/Finance Clerks (2). The Director is responsible for managing a servicedriven operation and team focusing on all financial matters of the district which include financial tracking and reporting for general fund grant and special revenue funds revenue tracking and reconciliation certified and classified payroll student activities nontax levy funds budget development and related state and federal financial reporting.
The Director collaborates with all district staff including district leaders building principals program coordinators department heads and teaching and support staff. The Director works in partnership with employees from the Town of Lexington municipal offices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
In collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations the Director will supervise and evaluate the following positions: the Special Education Finance and Operations Manager (1) Payroll Specialist (1) Financial Analyst (1) Finance Assistant (1) and Accounts Payable/Finance Clerks (2).
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A bachelors degree in public administration business accounting or an appropriate academic discipline is preferred. At least three to five years of experience in school finance and budget management is preferred.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
Work Year: 12 months
Vacation: 20 days to start. After 10 years 25 days.
Sick: 15 days carried over without limit
Personal: 3 days annually no carryover
Bereavement: 5 days in the case of the death of an employees family or household member.
Holidays: Based on observed holidays for district leaders.
