Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of ongoing architecture changes to an API platform.
- Coach and mentor development team members fostering a collaborative and highperformance environment.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and ensure the platform meets their requirements.
- Optimize the performance of the platform ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Oversee the deployment and management of cloudbased solutions ensuring best practices in cloud architecture and security.
- Design and document APIs ensuring adherence to best practices for RESTful services.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes and data integration workflows.
- Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with federal regulations and standards.
- Set up and maintain monitoring tools to track the performance and health of the platform.
- Collaborate with business analysts project managers and other stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 35 years of experience in software development and architecture.
- Proven experience in leading architecture changes and guiding development teams.
- Strong customer interaction skills with a focus on understanding and addressing customer needs.
- Expertise in AWS with a strong understanding of tools like RDS ECS EC2 Margate SQS and SNS.
- Proficiency in Python and PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining APIs and asynchronous workflows.
- Strong knowledge of ETL processes data integration techniques and tools.
- Indepth understanding of security best practices including Secure by Design principles and experience with compliance requirements for federal agencies.
- Experience with performance monitoring tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of containerization (e.g. Docker Kubernetes) and modern development practices (e.g. DevSecOps Agile methodologies).
- Understanding of network protocols firewalls and load balancers.
- Experience with productivity and collaboration tools (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite Microsoft Teams SharePoint Jira Confluence GitLab GitHub).
- Strong understanding of security principles and practices including Secure by Design principles.
- Experience with authority to operate (ATO) processes and compliance requirements.
- Existing public trust high or better or the ability to obtain one.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
