About The Village Nursery School The Village Nursery School (VNS) is a beloved non profit preschool in Farmington CT serving families for 68 continuous years. We offer a warm inclusive playbased environment that supports the emotional social and intellectual growth of children aged 2 years and 9 months to 5 years old. Our small communitycentered school is located in the heart of town just steps from the library and the village greencreating endless opportunities for exploration and learning. Our Team At Village Nursery School youll work alongside a fulltime classroom teacher and become part of a team of three experienced masterslevel educators who bring decades of expertise in early childhood education. Our teachers are passionate collaborative and dedicated to nurturing each childs development with creativity and care. Position Overview Were hiring a parttime Assistant Teacher to support our 3 and 4yearold classrooms during theschool year (September through May). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a joyful childcentered setting and is eager to learn and grow with an experienced teaching ResponsibilitiesPartner with the Head Teacher to deliver ageappropriate playbased lessons and activitiesPrepare classroom materials and lesson toolsAssist with daily routines including arrival transitions and dismissalHelp maintain a safe organized and engaging classroomSupport and interact with children during play group time and mealsAssist children with bathroom needs as appropriateMaintain required certifications: First Aid CPR/AED EpiPen Medication Admin (State of CT)Complete CT Office of Early Childhood (OEC) professional registry and background check requirementsCollaborate with the Head Teacher Director and Board of Directors as needed Qualifications Bachelors or Early Childhood Education Associates degree required 13 years of experience as a teacher or paraprofessional Warm caring nature and genuine enthusiasm for working with preschoolaged children Strong communication collaboration and organizational skills Ability to meet the physical and emotional demands of working with young children Must pass all CT staterequired background checks Job Details Pay: $20.50/hourSchedule: Approximately 21 hours/weekSchool Year: September 2025 End of May 2026Location: 67 Main Street Farmington CT Why VNS By joining The Village Nursery School youll be welcomed into a small dedicated teaching community where your contributions are valued and your professional growth is encouraged.
