Software Development Engineer, Alexa Sensitive Content & Intelligence

Alexa Sensitive Content Intelligence protects customers from exposure to sensitive content and enhances their trust in Alexa across all languages locales devices experiences and modalities including image text video and audio. Alexa Sensitive Content Intelligence team leverages natural language understanding (Generative AI) machine learning and big data to help Alexa identify sensitive content. We serve customers in Classic Alexa and LLM based environment with tier1 services and tools that enable customers to have a fun engaging conversational experience with Alexa. We are a highly collaborative fast moving and fun team that uses cutting edge technologies for real time customer experience enhancement. We are looking for a selfdriven and inspired SDEII who can work across the business domains and build sensitivity detection solutions.

Key job responsibilities
Own feature enhancements end to end collaborate with product and science design develop and launch in production.
Participate in design reviews/code reviews and contribute to the teams deliverables
An SDEII in Alexa Sensitive Content Intelligence will develop the design for complex cross functional multimodal and multi locale applications. The engineer in this role will be the owner of the technical areas supporting Generative AI Large Language Model (LLM) based services and customer facing applications. An SDEII will be forging alliance with upstream and downstream engineering teams to deliver the services and create mechanisms for endtoend integration. You will build lowlatency services that are optimized for performance to meet the classic Alexa and LLM based customer interaction expectations.
An SDEII in Alexa Sensitive Content Intelligence will own full stack software development and contribute to all aspects of an agile software development lifecycle including design architecture development documentation testing and operations. You will work with Scientists Engineers and Product managers and influence the design of the customer facing features and products. The SDE II will implement the service and features that will impact experience of customers across all modalities and functions.
Mentor junior engineers

A day in the life
As a member of the team you will be responsible for design development and launch of new features and maintenance of existing features. You will be required to participate with other senior engineers and peers in developing the overall system architecture contribute the review of design and code of peer engineers and mentor junior engineers. You will also work on high availability security compliance and maintenance of our existing services.

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
