Job Duties
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking a highly qualified professional to serve as a Business Process Improvement Coordinator within the Facility Services Division of Central Office. The Facility Services Division oversees and supports the operations services and employees of the twelve state facilities located across the Commonwealth. This position is responsible for evaluating and analyzing state facility business processes and protocols and determining areas for improvement based on standardization criterion set by the Facility Services Division leadership and DBHDS Executive Team. This position is also responsible for assisting in the development of operational process improvement plans with facility leadership and primary stakeholders to ensure consistency across the state facility system. In addition this position will provide an understanding of hospital systems and workflow facilitate consensus and change and utilize data analytics and statistics to inform decision making.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in business management engineering and technology organizational management healthcare administration project management or related field.
Understanding of the hospital/healthcare integrated systems administrative and clinical processes and workflows.
Ability to facilitate and bring diverse administrative and clinical employee groups to consensus.
Skilled in change management and project management techniques to support transition of workflows and procedures.
Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to assist others to adapt to change.
Knowledge of operationsrelated business theory.
Experience with data analytics and statistics.
Advanced analytical and problemsolving skills.
Exceptional leadership collaboration proven communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of business processes in healthcare behavioral health and developmental services for public or state industry.
Knowledge of quality management/QAPI principles Lean six sigma or equivalent process improvement programs.
Experience with Joint Commission and CMS survey process expectations and plans of correction.
Ability to train others in business process improvement principles reporting and expectations.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal skills to engage employees and stakeholders in all departments across facilities DBHDS and external partners regarding business processes protocol standards and recommendations.
Knowledgeable of strategic planning and resource allocation/utilization.
Experience with process and procedure documentation recommending improvements and evaluating the efficiency of changes made to business processes.
Experience with exceptional recordkeeping time management and organizational skills.
Additional Considerations
Experience in the logistics and practical application of business process management programs in a healthcare setting
Certification in a process improvement methodology such as Six Sigma Lean or equivalent.
Proficiency in business management software.
