JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Plant Science seeks a research assistant to work in the weed ecology lab to assist with experiments in both the field and greenhouse. Duties include: collection and processing of plant and soil samples data collection data entry and set up and maintenance of experiments.
Research projects will address key questions within weed ecologysuch as: 1) how do belowground traits influence crop and weed competition; 2) how may changes to precipitation associated with climate change influence weed management efficacy; and 3) how can we enhance the efficacy of ecologically based weed management practices
Requirements:A drivers license is required (but personal vehicle NOT required). Must be willing to work in a variety of environments including outdoors. Must be organized able to work independently as well as within a group demonstrate attention to details and ability to follow instructions.
This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US drivers license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
