TITLE: MATH INSTRUCTIONAL SUPERVISOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate
2. Minimum of 5 years overall teaching experience
3. Masters in Education Preferred
REPORTS TO: Executive Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
SUPERVISES: Such staff as the Executive Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and
Instruction may designate
JOB GOAL:To increase academic achievement by providing effective instructional leadershipin K12 math and assist in strengthening teachers ability to design and implementhigh quality teaching through professional development opportunities while
focusing on high quality instructional practices and Louisiana Student Standards.
Use student data to identify individual student deficiencies and address
appropriate instructional interventions
TERM: Twelve (12) Months
SALARY: Supervisor Salary Schedule
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Grades K12 teaching and learning support in the area of Mathematics
- Collect organize and disaggregate academic data in the specified content area
- Support implementation of highly effective curriculum for Mathematics
- Support the development and implementation of a district vision plan for school and student achievement improvement
- Support school improvement action plans with instructional practices that align to highly effective teaching and learning standards in the area of Mathematics
- Serve on task forces and decisionmaking committees when appropriate
- Guide teachers with appropriate assessment practices that align to highly effective curriculum and the Louisiana Student Standards
- Oversee groups of teachers in developing goals providing instructional practices with proven results facilitating teacher proficiency with new strategies through classroombased follow up and ensuring that the progress of teacher skill development is aligned with changing student learning needs
- Work with the director other instructional supervisors and/or consultants to enhance skills and be able to provide teachers with the best instructional practices
- Assist District personnel with planning and implementing professional development for lead teachers instructional coaches and teachers attend districtlevel professional development and redeliver information
- To research share observe critique and model teaching strategies that have proven effective in improving student performance in Mathematics
- To analyze student performance data align curriculum and recommend changes to meet the district priorities and state standards
- Work effectively with district and school personnel parents and the community
- Assist with the state assessment process
- To consistently demonstrate selfdirection
- To submit accurate records and reports promptly
- To exhibit professional ethics
- To foster open communication and positive relationships with school personnel and staff
- To perform any additional duties assigned by the Superintendent and/or evaluator
