Country CareAVan has been providing Central Minnesota communities with convenient reliable and trustworthy transportation since 1985! Our small business size offers the unique advantage to provide each client with safe transportation and a specially trained driver. We provide specialized transportation to individuals residing in Central Minnesota to a variety of destinations.

As a Driver for Country CareAVan youll assist our clients to attain their maximum potential for wellness and independence. Country CareAVan is an appointmentbased specialized transportation service offering doorthroughdoor service for clients. Our drivers personally pick up clients at their front door and offer assistance as they gather their things before escorting them to the vehicle. Upon arrival at the destination they ensure that the client has arrived at their intended destination offer assistance directions and accurate information help with appointment checkins etc Our drivers remain with the client until they are certain they are safe secure and comfortable.

Driver Responsibilities:

  • Follow schedule as assigned
  • Monitor and record daily schedule of runs miles location time and vehicle fluid levels
  • Assist clients with proper safety measures prior to travel
  • Assist clients with transfer activities
  • Validate appointment for client upon arrival and provide medical authority with any pertinent information required for client safety
  • Maintain van and equipment functionally and appearance
  • Communicate any concerns of vehicle or equipment performance to supervisor
  • Submit accurate reports of client visit information hours of work and mileage
  • Adhere to program and departmental policies and procedures and observe appropriate safety measures
  • Attend and participate in pertinent inservice education programs
  • Consistently report for duty on time and as scheduled
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned

Driver Qualifications:

  • Valid drivers license and access to an automobile
  • MN STS drivers certificate or a willingness to obtain certificate by completion of a STS program within 45 days of hire
  • Five years of experience as a licensed driver in the United States
  • Driving record clear of convictions for the preceding three years
  • Genuine interest and concern for all clients
  • Clean and neat appearance
  • Courteous and kind manner
  • Can work harmoniously and skillfully with other staff members patients and their families
  • Flexible and able to tolerate change or changing demands.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to speak write and read English in an understandable manner
  • Ability to physically transfer lift or assist patients with or without the aid of mechanical devices
