JOB TITLE: School Improvement Coach

REPORTS TO: District Report Director of Federal Grants

Direct Report School Principal

Base Salary:

$55386.00

Performance Pay:

Available annually

New hire experience:

$500 for each fulltime year of certified teaching

or verified like experience

New hire education:

$65/hour of graduate level credits: BA 45 hours max

MA 60 hours max $1000 for advanced degrees

Class/Calendar:

Certified Exempt 187 workdays

OVERVIEW:

The School Improvement Coach (SIC) serves as a master teacher coach and leadership support to build teacher capacity and ensure continual school improvement as measured by the student outcomes aligned to the MPS Portrait of a Graduate and Arizona State Standards. The SIC assists supports and coaches staff members in effective instructional strategies use of highquality curricular resources collaborative practices and instructional design. The SIC will support the promotion of school improvement by working with the site administrator to develop a needs assessment facilitate professional learning and ensure the implementation of AZ State Standards district curriculum and the School Integrated Action Plan (SIAP) including all ESEA compliance regulations. SICs build the instructional capacity and skill of teachers and teams through ongoing coaching demonstration teaching assistance with program monitoring and intervention strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Arizona certification with a minimum of 3 years of effective classroom teaching experience
  • Strong communication planning organization presentation and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver effective training for adult learners
  • Knowledge of effective instructional strategies assessment methods and intervention programs
  • Proficiency in interpreting assessment data for instructional decisions
  • Experience with sitebased teams and ability to work independently under stressful timelines
  • Understanding of national state and district standards in education
  • Proficient with technology and innovative use of technology in education
  • Willingness to work outside traditional hours including evenings weekends and summers
  • Professional attitude appearance and demeanor
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and support for organizational mission and strategic plan
  • Exemplary professional relationships with teachers administrators parents students and the community

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The School Improvement Coach works with school and district leadership and various departments to enhance teacher effectiveness and student achievement. The School Improvement Coach:

  • Collaborates with the instructional coach and site administration to support the goals of the school
  • Serves as a communication link between the district and school sites
  • Designs and facilitates professional learning to school staff
  • Aligns standards/curriculum with instructional materials strategies and activities
  • Supports and coaches staff to enhance effective instruction and improving student outcomes
  • Attends districtlevel meetings and professional learning
  • Disseminates curriculum and assessment information to administrators and teachers
  • Assists in developing implementing monitoring and evaluating School Integrated Action Plans
  • Coordinates school assessments
  • Supervises schedules informs trains and evaluates instructional assistants
  • Ensures student eligibility and participation in extended services
  • Assists with staff training maintains and enforces Time and Effort logs
  • Coordinates parental involvement meetings workshops family events and curriculum nights
  • Stays knowledgeable about current ESEA guidelines and maintains compliance documentation
  • assists the site administrator with maintaining compliance with documentation and alignment of evidencebased resources and budget
  • Perform other duties as assigned
