Job Description

Department: Massachusetts Migrant Education ProgramTitle: Lead InstructorFLSA Status: NonExemptReports to: Migrant Programming and Partnership Manager/State Program DirectorPurpose: Lead Instructors will assist the Migrant Programming and Partnership Manager with the coordination of direct service programming. This can include supporting other instructors student/family communication creating and monitoring case loads ensuring coordinated service delivery and organizing and delivering materials to instructors. Essential Functions:Establishing key learning objectives and plan for student sessions with individual instructorsReview and organize materials before sessionsSupport instructors in creating and maintaining a positive and fun environment that is engaging and enjoyable for students Track and record attendance and participation in a timely mannerCommunicate directly with assigned families/students if requiredCommunicate regularly with assigned supervisor Minimum Qualifications:Access to reliable and insured vehicleOne year of teaching experience in an informal or formal settingBilingual in English and Spanish (required)Able to pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) screening Instructional Setting:English Language/Life Skills Program Instructors will provide classes to small groups of students and in some cases individual students. Instruction is almost exclusively remote via Google Meet in evenings and Summer Program The instructors will engage students in projectbased learning while also giving them the opportunity to practice their English skills and communication skills. Lead instructors will facilitate a set daily schedule of activities and lead the other instructors in the daytoday homebased Program Instructors will make a series of one to three home visits to individual and small groups of students. They will facilitate fun and creative activities that also provide students with the opportunity to practice their English skills. Visits will range from one to two hours and can take place at the students home or in a park library or another public space nearby. Physical Demands:Able to travel to and between site visit locationsAbility to multitask and respond to plan alterations with a positive mindsetMust be able to communicate and converse effectively with youth and adults from multiple backgrounds and cultures in SpanishWork Conditions:Requires working a flexible schedule potentially including eveningEmployees expected to follow CES Workplace Safety Standards Frequent independent travel requiredTerms of Employment:Parttime; 840 hours per weekWeekly hours are dependent on program needsTemporary; 810 week positionsCompensation is $35.70/hrThis position can be held at the same time as the instructor position. Hours worked providing direct instruction will be compensated at the instructor rate of pay of $31.60/hourCES is an equal opportunity employer.
