Camp Mustang Leader Job Description
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m.
Camp Dates: June 9 July 25 2025
Position Type: Parttime and fulltime seasonal positions available
Pay: $17.50/hour
Overview:
Camp Mustang at Monte Vista Christian School is looking for energetic responsible and Christcentered individuals to serve as Camp Leaders for our summer day camp serving children ages 512. This role is ideal for those who love working with kids thrive in an active outdoor environment and want to make a lasting impact through Christian leadership.
Camp Leaders are responsible for leading supervising and engaging campers in a variety of daily activities including but not limited to:
- Recreational games and team sports
- Arts and crafts
- Drama and music
- Nature exploration and hikes
- Water play and pool time (lifeguard support onsite)
Leaders will model positive behavior encourage camper participation and work as part of a collaborative team to ensure a safe welcoming and fun environment for all children.
Additional Information:
This is a seasonal position based on Monte Vista Christian Schools campus in Watsonville CA. Applicants must be available for the full camp session Monday through Friday. Staff training will occur prior to the start of camp.
Qualifications:
- A heart for working with children and creating a Christcentered camp experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lead groups of children with confidence and care
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred (training opportunities may be available)
- Previous experience working with children or in a camp setting is recommended but not required
