Main Purpose of Job

This position is the full performance level of work involving planning coordinating and evaluating volunteer activities. This position also supports the Director of Community Resources and Development with secretarial clerical and logistical duties. This position works directly with the Director to prepare the newsletter and other possible mailings needed to develop public awareness of the John L Gildner RICA (JLGRICA) program.

This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:Five years of experience involving planning coordinating and evaluating volunteer activities in a state facility institution or communitybased program.

Notes:
may substitute the possession of a Bachelorsdegree from an accredited college or university including 30 credit hours in social sciences journalism public relations or a related field and one year of experience involving planning coordinating and evaluating volunteer activities in a statefacility institution or communitybased program for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of graduate level education in social sciences journalism public relations or a related field from an accredited college or university at a rate of 30 credit hours forthe required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience working with adolescents with emotional disabilities and court involved youth
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel and PowerPoint) and Publisher

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.

2. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete training and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

SELECTION PROCESS
