Medical ImagingJob Summary:
Under the leadership of the Director of Medical Imaging Services and supervision of the Lead Mammography Tech performs procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail on patients of all ages. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required including quality control and performance improvement monitoring..
Key Responsibilities:
Shall be capable of operating all Mammography equipment to include DEXA perform all mammography procedures operate the PACS and utilize radiographic supplies per department standards
Identifies each patient reviews orders for consistent (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis)
Records mammography history required by American College of Radiology (ACR) i.e. physicians name technologists name date explanation of limited exam etc.
Reviews each examination for technical accuracy presents completed examination to Radiologist and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure
Assesses patient condition assures patient safety through proper use of restraint/support devices under staff guidance.
Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and assures patient identification visible on all images.
Implements care in a knowledgeable skillful consistent and continuous manner to ensure the delivery of quality care according to age specific guidelines ranging from adolescent to geriatrics
Understands and Participates in the ACR & FDA requirements. Can perform all routine daily task requirements on an as needed basis
Adheres to all department/Hospital safety procedures for patient and material handling.
Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to Compliance and Ethics Program
