Job Description
Position
The Safety and Risk Management department at WCF Insurance has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join our team as a Commercial Lines Safety and Risk Manager. This is a fulltime exempt leadership position based out of our Sandy Utah Headquarters. The person in this position will lead WCFs commercial lines risk control program and provide training coaching and mentoring to Safety & Risk consultants. This position will be aligned closely with the underwriting team to provide thorough support.
Inspection work will include prospective new business renewal and service type visits. The inspections will consist of preparation account contact business and hazard evaluation that could include all lines of business with property exposure being the leading evaluations. The onsite and virtual evaluations will include report writing recommendation follow up and underwriting support. The inspection and service work will support WCF Risk Control initiatives and demonstrate the value of doing business with WCF Insurance.
Responsibilities
- Build strengthen and lead WCFs commercial lines safety and risk control program.
- Train coach and mentor Safety & Risk Control professionals in commercial lines risk control.
- Provide specialized industry expertise to safety & risk leadership for department strategy and goals.
- Provide underwriters with accurate information and sound opinions about risk and hazard characteristics observed during inspections to enable appropriate pricing.
- Assist policyholders in managing risks and reducing accidentfrequency rates.
- Assist policyholders with risk and hazard recognition and control.
- Assist with WCFs efforts to attract and retain profitable business.
- Provide specialized technical risk control expertise for clients.
- Participate in company community association partner and professional association boards committees and working groups.
- Work with highprofile complex accounts and provide expertise with complicated safety and risk projects.
- Report findings in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist senior leadership to market WCF products and services to insurance brokers and producers.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in STEM Business or a related field.
- At least five years of advanced work experience.
- Certification of ARM CFPS CPCU or CSP preferred.
- Superior understanding of safety and risk controls in P&C Auto and Workers Comp insurance industry.
- Strong project management and mentoring skills on technical risk control topics.
- Advanced level analytical statistical and technical writing skills.
