This position functions as a firstline professional manager of professional positions in a complex work area and is responsible for overall program delivery and coordinating the project management and contract administration for the scoping design and construction of projects within the Detroit Transportation Service Center (TSC) while maintaining alignment with the other TSCs regions and central office. This position is charged with managing schedules meeting deadlines meeting customer needs resolving complex issues to ensure successful outcomes project and program implementation negotiating agreements managing complex projects managing budgets and ensuring continued operations for delivery of Michigan Department of Transportations (MDOT) transportation projects and programs. This position actively practices and promotes the MDOT leadership standards of excellence including putting people first providing professional excellence acting with character and integrity being visionary and ensuring positive outcomes.The Salary listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Engineer Manager Licensed 14 position.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering
Experience
Five years of professional experience equivalent to an Engineer including three years equivalent to an Engineer P11; two years equivalent to an Engineer 12 Engineer Manager 12 or Engineer ManagerLicensed 12; or one year equivalent to an Engineer Manager 13 Engineer ManagerLicensed 13 Engineering Specialist 13 or Engineering SpecialistLicensed 13.Additional Requirements and Information
To be considered for this position you must:
- Possess a valid drivers license.
- Possess a registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan.
