Job Duties
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking an experienced individual to serve as an IT Asset Management Administrator. This role requires experience with ServiceNow CMDB (Configuration Management Database) or other CMDB implementations and the ability to implement policies and procedures to ensure effective asset management. This position will be responsible for managing and optimizing the lifecycle of IT hardware assets. By overseeing the entire lifecycle of IT assets and implementing best practices this position will help reduce costs minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulations as well as support the broader IT strategy that will ultimately contribute to the organizations success. Additional responsibilities include:
Managing the entire lifecycle of IT hardware assets from acquisition to disposal including planning for upgrades and replacements.
Managing and maintaining the ServiceNow CMDB ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Maintaining IT asset management policies and procedures.
Conducting regular inventory audits and reconciling discrepancies.
Maintaining an uptodate inventory of all IT hardware assets.
Ensuring all CMDB updates conform with policy and procedure and meeting the established Configuration Management baseline.
Creating ahhoc reporting/dashboard related to the status of the CMDB and related Configuration Management metrics.
Helping to establish policies and procedures for IT hardware asset management including procurement usage maintenance and disposal.
Managing IT assets to optimize costs including finding ways to maximize the value of each asset and reduce costs by extending their lifespan.
Ensuring that deliveries against POs are correct and any outstanding or incorrect orders are followed up or escalated.
Processing repairs returns and reassignment of hardware to our endusers ensuring all data is captured accurately.
Implementing policies and standards governing damaged lost stolen and replacement of assets.
Recording and facilitating stock management goods in and goods out processing.
Providing insights and recommendations on costsaving opportunities and asset optimization strategies.
Forecasting future asset needs based on business growth and technological advancements.
Developing reports and dashboards to support executive decisionmaking.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience as part of a Service Management and/or IT team managing the IT Asset Management function.
Experience in ServiceNow ITSM and/or ITOM module.
Understanding of Service Management and the concepts related to IT governance and oversight.
Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently organize and accurately prioritize work be detailoriented understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.
Must have physical capability to consistently lift 50lbs without assistance.
Additional Considerations
Strong knowledge of IT security access control and best practices.
Experience in managing IT assets throughout their lifecycle.
Experience balancing multiple priorities in a fastmoving environment.
Basic familiarity with ITIL Incident Management processes.
Certifications such as ITIL Foundation and/or ISO/IEC 19770.
Certified as an IT Asset Manager (CITAM) Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) and/or Software Asset Manager (CSAM).
