Job Description

Stinson LLP is seeking a highly motivated patent attorney with at least 10 years of experience to join its St. Louis Missouri office. Stinsons patent attorneys advise companies on every aspect of intellectual property law including patent protection and strategy enforcement and client counseling. We also defend clients against claims of infringement.

The major clients that we advise include companies in the following industries: medical devices; consumer devices; transportation; construction; agribusiness; sports and recreation; cannabis; heat ventilating and air conditioning; infrastructure protection and repair; manufacturing equipment; and electrical and fiber optic connectors.

This positions responsibilities would include patent application preparation and prosecution in the mechanical electrical and chemical arts. This position will also perform due diligence related to intellectual propertybased transaction licensing and portfolio management.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor higher decree or equivalent in Law
  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Chemical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Biomedical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Civil Engineering or similar engineering degree and/or work experience
  • U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration
  • 10 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution in the mechanical arts
  • Experience in agreement work a plus
  • Exceptional academic performance and excellent research writing analytical and communication skills are required
  • Licensed to practice in Missouri or have the ability to become licensed in Missouri.
