Job Description

** COMMUNICATION REGARDING TEST INFORMATION WILL BE SENT VIA EMAIL **


PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Incumbents apply knowledge of engineering to welldefined problems and/or assignments using the methods and materials of the electrical engineering field. Reviews maps diagrams schematics and documents of relevant facilities of Lafayette Utilities System. Assists in preparation of designs specifications and bid packages for construction or renovation projects. Participates in evaluation of bids contract administration and preparation of change orders. Ascertains contractor and inhouse compliance with applicable standards codes or regulations.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of the Engineer Intern certification by examination in the State of Louisiana.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATION

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or directly related discipline from an ABET accredited college or university.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION

Examination will be a rating of education and experience through a structured interview.
