Description

Lift Maintenance Technician II

The Homewood Lift Maintenance Department (HLM) takes pride in their work and takes the time to do their tasks properly the first time. We pride ourselves in minimizing down lift time and opening at our scheduled time daily. We strive for a safe workplace and try to prevent problems before they arise. We service 4 aerial tramways and 4 surface lifts which allow access to our 1.260acre resort. The resort consists of 67 runs comprised of 15% beginner terrain 40% intermediate and 45% expert and advanced; it also includes huge areas of endless tree skiing and an additional 750 acres of guided cat tours. Our team has a wide scope of tasks to accomplish and due to this all team members take part in helping regardless of the task. We focus on learning and giving employees the tools they need to grow and succeed. We solve the problems that occur on the mountain regardless of the location.

A Lift Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all surface and aerial tramways at Homewood Mountain Resort. The technician is expected to know how to safely get to required job sites via a large range of vehicles in a safe manner not limited to but including trucks rangers snowmobiles and snowcats.

Job sitespecific duties can include such things as sheave repair and changing high and low voltage diagnosis and repair lift component repair and removal (such as bull wheels sheave assemblies electric motors gearboxes clutches and chairs) safe transport haul rope repairs and welding and fabricating parts as required while following the manufacturer qualified engineer insurance company and HMR procedures as dictated for compliance with ANSI B77.

During the operating season a Lift Maintenance Technician is also responsible for ensuring the lift lift structure and lift boundary areas meet ANSI guidelines and are safe for customers. This includes such tasks as clearing snow from lift parts such as bull wheels tower tubes elevated walkways and tower assemblies up to 50 feet tall. They are also responsible by state and legal obligations for accurate written records which document the maintenance performed. Adverse conditions with steep terrain and deep snow are our norm. We pride ourselves on being first on the hill and last off.

Our work environment is outside 80% of the time where you get to enjoy beautiful Lake Tahoe in all seasons. Homewood offers some of the best views of the Lake Tahoe basin sunrises and sunsets are often breathtaking and sharing these picturesque moments with marketing is encouraged.

We are accepting applications for entry to senior Lift Maintenance Technicians we are willing to train. Due to the integral nature of the job to the resorts operation punctuality to the work schedule is required regardless of weather events. The ability to lift and carry 50 pounds work at heights up to 50 feet and in adverse weather are also a requirement for this job.

OSHA cards NDT certificates and welding certificates are all beneficial factors for this job.

Qualifications

AnExperienced Lift Maintenance Technician(LMT2) is capable of all tasks performed by an (LMT1) and has 38 years experience in lift maintenance. They understand all parts of a lift and the procedures required to rebuild and service line gear. The LMT1 completes monthly required lift paperwork accurately and timely while ensuring all checks are properly completed. Additionally the technician can gather the tools necessary for most Lift Maintenance tasks. They are also capable of safe rigging of towers and line gear and know what changes are necessary to their rigging solution based on varying loads and lifting situations. Furthermore they can command evacuation of all lifts in evacuation or APU modes with safety in place and can safely unload passengers in many lift failure scenarios. He/she is further capable of input on task priorities producing a list of necessary parts and estimating the total people needed for many lift maintenances tasks. Additionally LMT2s are capable of training others how to rescue a fallen coworker in any situation and can train others on how to safely work on towers. The LMT2 knows how to safely handle voltages from 110V AC to 1.2V DC and can problemsolve electrical problems associated with these voltages safely and without risk. Lastly the T2 will take accurate notes and produces informative documentation; they also have a good understanding of computers Microsoft Office programs and PLC interfacing.
