ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

> Collaborate with teachers/specialists to implement instructional programs and support Emergent Bilinguals (EBs) at a variety of levels depending on need.
> Provide oneonone small group and inclass support to help EBs access lesson content across subjects.
>Offer targeted instruction to EBs through pushin or pullout support during core or elective classes.
> Communicate with students in English and a designated second language to aid learning.
> Review assessment results and other data to report progress regarding students language performance as required; provide input and assist instructors with determining student advancement through established monitoring programs (PowerSchool Ellevation etc.).
> Support with the schools implementation and administration of the yearly English Language Proficiency Assessment for California (ELPAC) including completing ELPAC proctor training
> Provide translation during parentteacher conferences or telephone calls with limited or nonEnglish speaking parents; translate or write notes letters and other materials.
> Observe and report on behavior of students in and out of the classroom and support with implementing the schools behavior policy
> Use a variety of technology platforms and applications to support student learning
> Assist students by providing a proper role model emotional support patience a friendly attitude and general guidance
> Assure the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and procedures
> Participate in staff meetings inservice training programs parent meetings and field trips as assigned
> Maintain regular attendance
> Demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively as an educational team member
> Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Consistent with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 and other related legislation candidates for this classification must meet the following standards:
> Possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) AND one of the following:
*Completion of at least two years of college (48 semester units or 90 quarter units) OR
*Attainment of an AA (or higher) degree OR
*Passage of the CA Spanish Language Instructional Assistance Test
> Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
In addition as an ideal candidate you
> possess strong skills in MS Word Excel and Google Suite
> can communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written forums.
> have excellent interpersonal skills
> have experience working with adolescents/children in a structured environment (experience working with adolescents/children requiring a specialized learning environment is preferred and verifiable supervised experience as a volunteer in a school or related organizational activity may be substituted on an equal basis). Other training or experience leading to the desired skills knowledge or abilities may be considered; however experience cannot substitute for the required minimum education and a willingness to work collaboratively as an educational team member.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
> Work Hours: This position requires consistent attendance during scheduled hours as flexibility is limited by classroom or operational requirements. > Physical Requirements: The position may require certain physical abilities such as interacting with prospective families traveling across Los Angeles County walking or standing for long periods or moving through various parts of the school. > Social Requirements: The position requires extensive interaction with students colleagues and members of the public. > OnSite Presence: This role requires regular inperson attendance to meet the needs of students staff and the school environment. Remote work/telecommuting is generally not an option.
