TITLE: K8 Math CoordinatorJOB GOAL:The K8 Math Coordinator position is a full time teacher leader position. This position works closely with the Assistant Superintendent and High School Math Department Chair to oversee and support the implementation of research based high quality instructional materials research based instructional practice and intervention. The K8 Math Coordinator collaborates extensively with school and district leaders in planning and implementing K8 benchmark assessments assisting schools in data analysis and providing high quality professional learning in Math. This includes working closely with K5 Math Achievement Coaches to model lessons in classrooms provide instructional guidance and coaching to teachers. The Math Coordinator is a highly qualified mathematics teacher with extensive training focused on implementation of K8 Tier 1 core math curriculum with integrity and Tier 23 smallgroup interventions. The goal of this position is to develop a student centered system of instruction and intervention that results in a 75% or more of BWRSD students meeting or exceeding grade level proficiency. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide leadership coaching and ongoing support for full implementation of K8 Math curriculum (iReady K5 and Illustrative Math 68) and articulation with grades 912.
Provide jobembedded professional development and coaching to K8 teachers including K5 classroom teachers 68 ELA middle school teachers math coaches special educators and other content area teachers and specialists who support mathematics. This includes providing training for new or transitioning teachers.Participate in ongoing indepth training in K8 Math curriculum and instructional practice to develop the expertise needed for effective program implementation instruction and assessment.Support the work of K5 Math Achievement Coaches development of coaching schedule and evaluation of coaching outcomes through ongoing dialogue with teacher and school and district leaders.Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent and Principals to supervise and support effective implementation of K8 Tier 1 Math curriculum and instructional practice and Tier 23 intervention programs. Manage digital learning and assessment systems including but not limited to iReady.Analyze and present K8 Math data from state and local assessments at the school and district level.Collaborate with vendors principals and the office of the Assistant Superintendent to develop annual budgets for math curriculum materials and supplemental webbased products to ensure teachers and students have timely access to learning resources.Develop and implement grant funded activities including budget and narrative development monitoring grant activities within required timelines and completing all necessary reporting and accountability requirements including but not limited to Title I and other funding sources.Work with school and district leaders and school level teams to monitor Math outcomes and promote continuous improvement in achievement across student subgroups (students with disabilities multilingual learners etc). Serve as a member of the MTSS Core Design Team and provide training and ongoing support to strengthen the K12 MTSS process within each school.Serve as a member of the district Professional Learning Committee and develop facilitate and evaluate professional learning for BWRSD teachers administrators and families to increase student outcomes.Serve on other district committees as requested such as Kindergarten Registration Strategic Planning as well as school level supporting School Improvement Plans. Collaborate with the K8 Literacy Coordinator and Science Coordinator to create coherence across K8 curriculum implementation and professional learning approaches.Collaborate with the High School Math Department Chair to strengthen K12 vertical articulation of learning.Participate in monthly planning meetings with the Assistant Superintendent.Maintain consistent membership in state and national mathematics organizations as requested.Work with the Assistant Superintendent and Principals to develop implement and monitor annual professional learning goals for math to promote continuous improvement in achievement across student subgroups so 75% or more of students meet or exceed grade level proficiency in Math.
