POSITION TITLE: Energy Efficiency Manager
EXEMPTION STATUS: Nonexempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months
Primary Purpose
Direct and manage the districts conservation management program. Develop and oversee an integrated districtwide conservation management program that ensures efficient and effective use of resources and meets the comfort health and safety needs of students and staff.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Bachelors degree preferred.
Clear and valid Texas drivers license
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of conservation management program development and implementation
Knowledge of heating ventilation and aircondition systems (HVAC)
Ability to use energy accounting and building automation software
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Ability to implement policy procedures and data
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and databases
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Experience
3 years experience in conservation management or closely related field
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Energy Management
- Analyze energy usage and conduct needs assessment for improvement of energy management procedures equipment and systems. Make recommendations for changes based on findings.
- Develop and implement control strategies in building automation software to increase energy efficiency of the HVAC and lighting systems.
- Work cooperatively with building principals and facilities directors to support use of school facilities for extracurricular activities in a manner consistent with conservation management guidelines.
- Provide input regarding the installation repair and modification of energy management equipment in district facilities to include the submission of work orders as needed. Recommend the disposal and replacement of obsolete equipment when needed.
- Provide training and make presentations regarding district conservation efforts to faculty school board and community as needed.
Policy Reports and Law
- Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents required including utility usage and wiring and installation diagrams of all energy management systems.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Budget
- Provide input for the conservation management budget based on documented needs and ensure programs are costeffective and funds are managed wisely.
- Provide input and assist the Director of Facilities with bids contracts payments or other financial documents related to district conservation projects.
