Job Description
Position Title: Elementary Head Coach Basketball
Reports to: Athletic Director
Service Area: Santa Fe NM
Employment Term: Parttime.
Salary/Wage Range: Depends on qualifications and experience.
Summary
The head coach must have a good knowledge of the sports be able to communicate with athletes clearly and effectively enthusiastically and successfully recruit athletes for the particular sport and have a good rapport with students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Communicates with studentathletes clearly and effectively.
- Teach philosophy and fundamental skills associated with sport to studentathletes.
- Responsible for attending practice sessions meetings and other assignments as may be directed by the head coach and/or the Athletic Director.
- Accompany and supervise studentathletes at sporting events at NMSD.
- Attend all meetings required by the head coach and/or the Athletic Director.
- Assist with supervising and instructing studentathletes in caring for and storing equipment supplies and securing personal items.
- Inform and assist the Athletic Director in all practice scheduling team meetings and game scheduling
- Stress good sportsmanship safety and the values of athletics positive community relations and a positive image of the school to the students staff and opponents.
- Assist with the caring of injured students on the NMSD campus by accompanying them when requested to the Health Center.
- Report any hazardous situations(s) to the head coach and/or the Athletic Director in a timely manner.
- Submit player rosters to the Athletic Director
- Works within the basic framework and philosophy of the head coach of that program: cooperates in the planning organizing and teaching of fundamentals strategy rules and techniques.
Qualifications: Superior knowledge of basketball experience in coaching or teaching and understanding of the studentathletes commitment to academics.
Education and/or Experience: associate or bachelors degree preferred. Coaching experience in working with K12
Certificates and Licenses: Certification in First aid and CPR.

While performing the duties of this Job the employee is required to stand walk and sit for more than 6 hours a day while teaching classes and use hands to
sign handle papers and write on the board. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and peripheral vision.
