NBU is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide leadership and oversight of all financial operations including budgeting accounting financial planning and analysis capital planning cash and debt management investments procurement financial reporting and rate development. With a focus on transparency and integrity the CFO drives financial operations that fully align with legal requirements regulatory frameworks and industry best practices. Additionally the CFO plays a critical role in identifying and mitigating energyrelated financial risks including market volatility procurement exposure and longterm hedging strategies to ensure financial stability and resilience.
The NBU Chief Financial Officer is a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team serving as the strategic financial steward for an organization dedicated to delivering exceptional electric water and wastewater services. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) the CFO plays a critical role in safeguarding NBUs financial health while positioning the organization for sustainable innovative growth. The CFO partners closely with the CEO executive colleagues and the NBU Board of Trustees to develop and implement forwardthinking financial strategies that support NBUs mission of enhancing the quality of life for the growing New Braunfels community.Compensation and Benefits

Eligible candidates will possess a bachelors degree in accounting business administration finance public administration or a related field a proven record of at least seven (7) years of financial management and accounting experience including five (5) years in a senior leadership role within municipal finance utilities finance or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license issued by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy or by reciprocity from another U.S. state board is preferred.
