This onsite position is responsible for managing critical healthcare documentation workflow and mail operations at our corporate office. The Correspondence Specialist handles the essential task of processing and mailing secondary insurance claims with primary EOBs preparing and submitting insurance appeals and managing incoming corporate mail distribution.
Key job responsibilities
Print and prepare secondary insurance claims ensuring accurate matching with corresponding primary EOBs
Process and mail appeals documentation to insurance carriers within required timeframes
Sort and distribute incoming corporate mail to appropriate departments
Maintain organized filing systems and tracking logs for all outgoing correspondence
Follow HIPAA guidelines and compliance requirements for handling protected health information
Monitor and maintain adequate supplies for printing and mailing operations.
A day in the life
Secondary Claims Processing
Retrieve and sort secondary claims requiring processing
Print secondary claims from the system
Match secondary claims with corresponding primary EOBs
Verify accuracy and completeness of all documentation
Prepare claims for mailing (folding stuffing envelopes applying postage)
Appeals Processing
Review appeals queue and identify timesensitive items
Gather necessary documentation for each appeal
Print appeal letters and supporting documents
Assemble appeal packages according to insurance carrier requirements
Prepare appeals for mailing
Incoming Mail Management
Collect incoming mail from designated pickup point.
Sort mail by department or recipient
Distribute mail to appropriate departments.

Previous experience in healthcare documentation or mail services required
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic computer proficiency
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Experience with office equipment including printers and postage machines
Schedule: Fulltime MondayFriday during business hours at our corporate office location
High school diploma or equivalent required
1 years in healthcare revenue cycle or medical billing
Previous experience working with secondary claims and EOBs
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements
Experience with healthcare billing software or practice management systems
Familiarity with insurance carriers and their documentation requirements
Previous experience in mail room operations or document management
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Outlook)
Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills
Prior experience in a fastpaced corporate environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Medical terminology knowledge
Associate degree in Healthcare Administration or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $31200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $59700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
