The Expedited Operations Specialist plays a critical role in managing the execution of timesensitive freight across expedited lanes. Responsible for overseeing a designated driver board this position ensures seamless load coordination proactive problemsolving and timely execution in a fastpaced environment. Expedited freight demands nearconstant engagement contingency planning and realtime decisionmaking to prevent costly delays. The role regularly encounters urgent disruptionsfrom mechanical breakdowns to lastminute cancellationsand must act quickly to resolve issues and keep freight moving. Success in this role requires strong operational judgment adaptability and a willingness to wear many hats in a 24/7 logistics setting.

Key Responsibilities
Manage a designated expedited driver board overseeing load planning execution and communication.
Proactively identify freight opportunities under tight timelines.
Collaborate with planning and dispatch teams to secure viable freight that meets expedited standards.
Build and manage multidriver relay plans on longhaul lanes.
Respond to midroute service disruptions with rapid effective solutions.
Maintain accurate system records including driver and freight data.
Monitor driver performance and lane operations escalating freight needs as appropriate.
Maintain highfrequency communication with drivers to ensure load integrity.
Strategically minimize deadhead while balancing freight coverage needs.
Flex across planning dispatching and recovery functions as needed.
Full responsibility for both dispatching and planning functions.
Manages up to 30 drivers and/or two lanes.
Plans routes identifies freight opportunities and manages the planning side of daily operations.
Coordinates multidriver relays and ensures effective execution of all scheduled loads.
Makes independent decisions regarding freight coverage proactively adjusting lanes and driver assignments as needed.
Responds to midroute disruptions using sound judgment to minimize delays and uphold service expectations.
Collaborates with senior team members on higherlevel planning and recovery strategies when needed.
Significant ownership of both dispatching and planning requiring the ability to manage highvolume lanes and make autonomous operational decisions.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Logistics or related field preferred.
23 years of experience required including handson responsibility for both dispatching and planning
Prior experience in expedited or fastpaced logistics environments strongly preferred.
Strong multitasking communication and critical thinking skills required.
Proficiency with logistics systems Microsoft Excel and dispatch platforms.
Demonstrated ability to operate independently with urgency and sound judgment required.
