Description

The Supply Chain Manager coordinates organizes and leads our Planning Purchasing and Inventory functions. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and costeffective flow of materials components and finished goods through the supply chain.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field with coursework in Supply Chain Management
  • At least five years progressive experience in supply chain operations and/or management with a focus on planning purchasing and inventory.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement comparison or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
  • Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company at sites and in the factory.
  • Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
  • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
  • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
  • Assesses the need for materialhandling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading unloading movement and storage of materials.
  • Oversee sourcing and procurement of raw materials components and finished goods.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality reliability and costeffectiveness.
  • Participates as an advisory member of the product development team providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
  • Monitors the performance of suppliers assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop inventory strategies that balance availability with cost optimization.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure proper controls and reporting.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies obsolescence and excess stock issues.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Recruits interviews hires and trains new staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Office work using technology daily to handle fax email copier scanner phone and computerrelated tasks and responsibilities.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a fulltime position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Occupational Health and Safety
