Job Description

Production Coordinator Engineering / Manufacturing

Newcastle(DOE)

Fulltime Office & Shop floor Based (50/50 split)

Are you a production professional with a passion for precision engineering Were on the lookout for a Production Coordinator to join a dynamic and fastpaced workshop.

About Our Client:

Our client produces small quantities of make to order high precision parts that require 1520 operations per job. We also manage repair/after market service in the same workshop. Our workshop consists of a low temperature foundry NDT EDM wire cut and standard milling/turning processes using both manual and CNC machine tools.

We run a team of 6 operators and about 20 operations per day to process. There are constant changes in setup part type material and sizes we produce and therefore a lot of complexity to deal with. It is fast paced in terms of making changes and adjustments to production scheduling.

About the Role:

The production coordinator role will be responsible to provide support and organisation around production activities and be an interface between customers production and management. The role is handson and opportunities are available for training and taking on production operations that support production flow and provide support during holidays and sickness. We would expect that 50% of time is spent in the office and 50% on the shop floor.

Working Hours:

37.5 Hours per week normal day shift

07:00 15.30

Friday 07:00 12:30

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Create update and manage production schedules

  • Coordinate the flow of materials and issue production documentation

  • Perform inwards inspection for repair parts and manage deliveries

  • Order and receive materials tooling and consumables

  • Create quality inspection documentation and maintain stores

  • Support 5S practices and drive continuous improvement

  • Liaise with subcontractors for external processes

  • Assist in capturing production data and investigating any overruns

About You:

  • A strong communicator with a proactive handson attitude

  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a machine shop environment

  • Familiar with both manual and CNC machining processes ( crucial)

  • Confident with Excel Word and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and ERP systems (preferred)

  • Detailoriented with a solid grasp of 5S and production discipline

  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced setting
