The Faculty of Education and StFX Online invites applications for a Parttime Academic Instructor (50% position) as part of the offcampus Certificate in Outdoor Education for the following course:
Course Number and Title: EDUC 405E Teaching Canoeing in Public Schools
Course Description:
This course is designed to prepare teachers to be able to engage in flat water
canoeing instruction and to help them learn the pedagogical approaches that will
assist them in promoting paddling as a lifelong activity. The course includes on
water and dockside safety environmental hazards adaptive equipment skillbased
games and helps attune teachers to onwater risks. Teachers will also develop
skills and strategies for planning a progression of paddling skills for students in
elementary and secondary schools.
Start and End Dates: July 14 2025 August 1 2025 (subject to final budgetary approval)

Delivery Mode: Inperson/Online
Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD or MEd with significant teaching experience in the course area as well as public school teaching experience and/or extensive experience in the pursuit.
