Description

Your Impact:

As a full time Cafeteria Manageryou will play a key role in:

  • Responsible for the cooking and preparation of food for the Good Sammy Canning Vale Cafeteria catering and other staff functions.
  • Responsible for the ordering of food supplies and related goods.
  • Responsible for the supervision and training of Supported staff employed in the Good Sammy Cafeteria in all aspects of catering including food preparation cooking methods kitchen hygiene and customer service.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Canning Vale Cafeteria is financially sustainable.

What youll do:

  • Ensure the cafeteria operates in a financially sustainable manner while maintaining highquality food and service standards.
  • Prepare cook and serve a variety of hot and cold meals for morning tea and lunch periods.
  • Plan and coordinate daily caf operations including menu development food preparation schedules inventory management and stock control.
  • Work with other departments to support special events and catering requests including development and promotion of a corporate catering menu in partnership with the Marketing Team.
  • Monitor inventory levels ensure effective stock rotation and implement costsaving measures to reduce waste.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations and organisational policies including cleanliness temperature control and safe food storage. Take a proactive approach to health and safety in consultation with the Quality and Safeguarding Team.
  • Supervise and mentor Supported staff during service hours fostering an inclusive environment that builds skills and confidence. Provide training and support toward achieving certification and experience in barista work food preparation and customer service.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs for Supported staff creating pathways into hospitalityrelated qualifications and career development.
  • Manage the Point of Sale (POS) system oversee cash handling and maintain accurate daily financial reporting.
  • Ensure all cafeteria staff follow safety protocols use equipment hygienically and maintain high personal hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Proactively manage rostering and arrange cover for both planned and unplanned staff absences.


Skills And Experiences

What youll bring:

  • Proven experience in a similar cafeteria or hospitality management role.
  • Familiarity with Public Health Department Food Handling Regulations.
  • Staff supervision experience including providing training.
  • Understands safe working practices in a kitchen.
  • Business acumen in relation to managing procurement activity and maintaining costs at budget level.
