Job Description

The University of Newcastles School of Law and Justice is home to an impactful and expanding Criminology program strong community and industry engagement and a deep commitment to social justice. As part of an interdisciplinary School ranked among the worlds top 200 law schools our Criminology discipline leads research that drives policy reform and mentors the next generation of criminology professionals.

We are now looking for a Lecturer in Criminology to join our growing team in a balanced academic role.

The Role

In this role you will be supported to deliver excellence in teaching research and responsibilities include:

  • Deliver highquality teaching across undergraduate Criminology programs while supporting student learning and engagement.
  • Conduct and publish highquality research with a focus on advancing knowledge in Criminology.
  • Supervise and mentor honours and postgraduate research students
  • Seek research funding build industry collaborations and engage in relevant professional activities with industry and community partners.
  • Contribute to course coordination School committees and academic governance

This permanent fulltime position is based at NUspace in Newcastles CBD (Awabakal and Worimi land) with the opportunity to teach online and at other campuses as required.
