We Require
Four years of professional library experience which includes two years of supervisory experience
Masters degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited school

Job Contributions
Manages the operations of a large branch library
Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers using the Library Districts Great Expectations customer service model
Develops performance plans monitors performance coaches/counsels and evaluates staff
Schedules staff for work shifts and at the customer service desk
Monitors branch budget for parttime staff and supplies
Identifies needs provides recommendations and implements changes and policies for improving branch operations
Maintains a vibrant and attractive collection by employing merchandising techniques presenting engaging displays and following adopted collection maintenance practices
Works closely with town and Library District Facilities Management to oversee building renovations additions and furniture purchasing and arrangement
Implements monitors and reports results of strategic initiatives developed for the Library District
Maintains a current understanding of all Library District products and material types and promotes use by staff and customers
Plans and conducts programs for the public
Working Conditions
Position may require working outside of normal working hours including evenings and weekends based on branch operating hours
Work is performed both inside and outside in heat/cold wet/humid and dry/arid conditions
Ability to carry 10 pounds a distance of 50 feet push/pull 50 pounds a distance of 100 feet lift 15 pounds from floor to waist lift 10 pounds waist to shoulder and lift 5 pounds shoulder to overhead
Position requires travel to and from jobrelated locations during a scheduled workday subject to County policies regarding the use of a County or private vehicles used for County business
