Job Description

Seeking an Administrative Assistant who is also primarily responsible for student care as the schools health technician beginning July 2025 at Liberty Common Junior High School in Fort Collins Colorado a Poudre School District charter school dedicated to using the Core Knowledge curriculum in grades K8. The new standalone juniorhigh school will open to students in August of 2025 and will enroll over 250 juniorhigh students in its opening year.

LCJHS provides excellence and fairness in education by teaching a contextual body of organized knowledge the skills of learning and the values of a democratic society. This is done through parental choice partnership with teachers and student acceptance of responsibility for his/her academic effort.

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Salary NonExempt

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular Fulltime

WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week

PAY RANGE: $35000$45000

REPORTS TO: Office Manager

REVISION DATE: May 2025

This position is for one of two front desk staff members. The two positions share the duties below. The staff member in this position will specialize as either the attendance specialist or the health tech as determined by qualifications interests and school needs at the time of hire.

Regular Duties:

  • Provides quality customer service in the schools front office professionally greeting visitors and efficiently answering telephones
  • Maintains accurate and efficient periodbyperiod student attendance records and assisting with other studentrecord systems
  • Orders supplies for the health office front office and teacher work rooms
  • Provides clerical and administrative support to all Liberty staff including but not limited to sending faxes making copies and sorting the mail
  • Assists in coordinating schoolwide events assemblies and gatherings
  • Performs other common schooloffice and clerical duties as required
  • Assists school nurse and other personnel
  • Consoles and encourages students in crisis/stress situations
  • Coordinates student health needs with teachers nurse and parents
  • Completes monthly AED inspection reports
  • Administers medications adhering to district and state procedures
  • Attends quarterly health meetings and takes part of other professional development opportunities
  • Communicates effectively with parents and staff about health concerns
  • Assists with fieldtrip preparations
  • Performs delegated medical procedures as needed
  • Provides data entry and filing as necessary
  • Maintains health office records including HCAP records immunization records medication records vision and hearing records and cumulative health records
  • Provides first aid to students and staff
  • Oversees the schools lunch program and coordinates with volunteers to clean the lunchroom daily
  • Assists with special events and special projects including but not limited to teacherappreciation events Odyssey Games faculty/staff breakfasts and luncheons etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Desire and willingness to learn about Libertys history and philosophy and to uphold and promote the mission and values of the school
  • Experience in office or school settings
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to represent the school in a professional and courteous manner to parents students and visitors
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic customerdriven environment while maintaining a calm and professional atmosphere
  • Demonstrated literacy with computer office suite products and the ability to learn other software programs
  • Demonstrated skill in prioritizing and successfully completing multiple tasks and projects
  • Excellent communication skills initiative attention to detail and situational awareness
  • Ability and willingness to be part of a hardworking active team
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR or a willingness to become certified
  • Good communication skills and initiative

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Liberty Common High Schools history and a commitment to maintaining and promoting the schools mission and values
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to move safely in business workspaces
  • Must be able to work in occasionally loud environments
  • The ability to walk sit or stand for long periods of time (up to eight hours)
  • The ability to lift 1020 pounds when needed
  • Must be able to maneuver uneven surfaces
  • The ability to frequently use office technology including computers copiers and printers
