Cost Accountant

We are seeking an experienced manufacturing cost accountant to eventually evolve into a broader role as Controller at CPS. This new position comes as responsibilities transition from several employees and external accounting services. We currently utilize Sage Accounting but are in the process of migrating to Epicors fully integrated ERP system.

This role not only oversees financial operations but also involves actively managing daily outcomes to ensure the financial health of our operations. You will lead financial planning analysis monthly closings and overall financial oversight directly impacting our operational efficiency financial transparency and business success.

Responsibilities

• Learn existing systems including Sage Accounting and purchasing processes
• Play a key role in setting up financial components of Epicor ERP
• Oversee daily and weekly financial activities to ensure data integrity
• Lead the monthly financial close process for accurate reporting
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Receivable for timely payments and collections
• Ensure compliance with payroll sales and other tax obligations
• Work closely with operations to align financial practices with production goals
• Develop budgets forecasts and financial models
• Prepare and present financials to stakeholders and lenders

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cost accounting especially in a manufacturing setting
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis
• Excellent collaboration skills with both finance and operations teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Education Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
• CPA or CMA is a plus but not required

• Minimum of 35 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with ERP systems preferably Epicor
• Proven track record of financial oversight and operational efficiency
