You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Department of Pediatrics Division of Genetic Medicine at University of Washington is recruiting a fulltime academic geneticist at the level of Assistant Associate or Full Professor without tenure by reason of funding (WOT) on the ClinicianScholar pathway. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience qualifications and academic rank. Anticipated start date is Summer 2025.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30).Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30). Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service.
Responsibilities will include patient care (inpatient consultations outpatient genetics clinics regional clinics throughout Washington telemedicine and multidisciplinary clinics) and teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities will be available for clinical research and collaboration with physician/scientists in the Seattle Childrens Research Institute and basic scientists in the Departments of Pediatrics and of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington.
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors $14895 $22343per month ($178740 $268116 annually) Associate Professors $17091 $25636 per month ($205092 $307632 annually) Full Professors $19837 $29756 per month ($238044 $357072 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Childrens University Medical Group practice plan.
Applicants must:
Have an MD or DO or MD/DO combined (or foreign equivalent)
Have completed Catergorical Genetics residency or Combined Pediatric Genetics residency
Be board certified or board eligible in Clinical Genetics and Genomics
Be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (nonU.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
