ASDB was founded in 1912 the year of Arizonas statehood. ASDB serves over 2000 children who are blind visually impaired deaf hard of hearing or deafblind from birth to grade 12. ASDB operates two schools for the deaf one school for the blind our statewide Early Learning Program which includes birth to three and preschool programs and Itinerant Services for students attending a school with one of our district partners. ASDB is dedicated to empowering diverse young children and students with the educational opportunities necessary to succeed in college career and life.

Location: Tucson and Phoenix

Hours Per Week: As Needed
Work Calendar: As Needed
Pay Rate: $15.00
Other: Proficient ASL
Required Certificates: NFHS Concussion in Sports and CPR/First Aid

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Head/Assistant Coaches must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; must have background experience training or coursework in the particular sport; must possess receptive and expressive manual communication skills if working with hearing impaired students. Must have CPR/First Aid certificate upon hire

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan practices; supervise athletes at all times; report to Athletic Coordinator regarding accidents equipment needs eligibility rosters transportation and meal requests equipment/uniform inventory; develop team rules and enforce them in a fair and equitable manner; provide appropriate leadership/role model for athletes; safely lift and transport nonambulatory students; other duties as outlined in the coaches manual

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS:
In the event the schools transportation department is unable to provide transportation the coach(es) may be assigned the responsibility of transporting the team to an away contest in school vehicles. Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment as required. The coach(es) are required to take a Defensive Driving WAV online Will need a Valid Arizona Driver Licence

Must be able to pass FBI and State background check Defensive Driver Training Program to be completed by all agency personnel that drive on State business High School Head and Assistant Coaches require NFHS (National Federation of High Schools) Coaches Education certification High School Head Coaches require a valid Arizona Dept. of Education certificate in Athletic Coaching Elementary Secondary or Special Education Must be able to pass post offer physical ASL (American Sign Language) skills if working with deaf or hard of hearing staff/students All coaches require current CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) First Aid and Crisis Intervention Training or certification
