Who are we looking for
GHDhas a great opportunity for an experiencedWater Resource Engineer in our Long Beach CAoffice. As a Water Resource Engineer you will have the opportunity to focus on various areas of expertise including water resources hydrology and hydraulics stormwater and flood management sewer and water modeling engineering research GIS analyses design plans specification writing and construction cost estimating.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Serving as project manager/task managermaintaining project budgets scopeand schedules
- Water sewer and stormwater modeling
- Preparing technical reports
- Analyzing various types of groundwater climate surface water stormwater and water quality data
- Developing plans specifications and cost estimates (PS&E)
- Ability to conduct field work and collect data related to sampling and construction observations
- Task management
What you will bring to the team:
- Interest in groundwater stormwater and water resources management
- Experience with engineering and design of water resources related projects
- Experience in developing project scope schedule and budget
- Proven skills in water sewer and stormwater modeling applications
- Proven skills in GIS applications and AutoCAD experience a plus
- Strong technical writing skills
- Must be able to work on multiple assignments simultaneously; and have strong organizational problem solving communication interpersonal and presentation skills
- Expertise using Microsoft Excel
- Proven task management experience
- Client management experience a plus
- Proven experience preparing PS&E packages
- Experience with various surface water and stormwater modeling platforms: HECRAS HECHMS HECSSP EPASWMM a plus.
- Ability to obtain Professional Engineer license in California within 2 years
Required qualifications
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental preferred)
- 6 years of experience of applied knowledge in planning engineering and design
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities to work both within a team and independently
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software programs
- Must be able to complete occasional field work requirements including sampling and construction observations
Salary Range: $86020 $129030based on experience.
