PURPOSE
This position will assist with maintaining the baseball the love of sport we hope to deepen each students capacity for character development. As a member of our teams students will learn to be accountable to demonstrate commitment teamwork and selfsacrifice to deal with success and failure and to strive for excellence each time they compete. To support this we will do our best to hire coaches and sponsors who will be transformative leaders and role models for Passion Composure SelfDiscipline Perseverance Respect and Integrity.Our athletic/activity programs are here to provide students with a positive competitive experience as an extension to their academic education.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.
DISTRICT EXPECTATIONS
All employees of the District are expected to adhere to the policies and regulations of the Board of Education maintain appropriate certification and competencies necessary for the position and demonstrate the values of the district at all times. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports To: Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach
Supervises: None
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: 60 hours of college credit is required; Missouri Substitute teaching certificate is required;
Sport First Aid Course is required.
If hired as a coach via a substitute certificate the individualmust satisfactorily complete (make a grade of 80% to pass) a MSHSAAapproved coaches education program (NFICEP) before he/she can behired for a coaching position in any subsequentyear. In addition all coaches despite certification status must attend a NFICEP firstaid class and pass the exit test given at that time.
Preferred: Bachelors degree; Missouri teaching certificate; Prior teaching/coaching experience.
Ideal candidate will have a professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fastpaced environment. Ideal candidate will have prior experience with coaching pitchers.

Language:Read analyze and interpret professional journals Board policy administrative procedures and forms and governmental regulations and guidance; Complete forms and write reports; Present information effectively and respond to questions
Computation: Perform basic mathematical functions such as adding subtracting multiplying and dividing; Apply concepts; such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning:Solve a variety of problems in many different situations; Interpret instructions presented in written oral diagram or schedule form; Apply knowledge of current educational theory and instructional techniques while presenting subject matter to students
Other Skills and Abilities: Identify needs and abilities of individual students and to adapt instructional methods accordingly; establish and maintain effective relationships with students staff administrators and parents; perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Technology: Perform basic computer functions such as word processing and internet use; Use district software for finding student information; Utilize smart boards projectors and other instructional technology provided by the district.
Physical Demands:Speak and hear in an environment where numerous conversations and activities may be taking place simultaneously; Move around a classroom gymnasium and playing field; Read handwritten or printed material
Attendance:Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position: Requires frequent evening and/or weekend work related to practice and competition; Evenings and/or weekends travel to accompany students to games and meets.
Sensory Requirements:The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision hearing and speaking.
Conditions and Environment: The individual who holds this position will regularly work in a school environment that is noisy and active. The individual will be required to work outdoors.
