Come join our Nursing family and be an integral part of our med/surg telemetry team! We offer an extensive onboarding experience with a dedicated Preceptor that includes continuing education SIM lab and a dedicated professional development specialist. Our Patient Care Associates (PCA) collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and carry out a patient centered plan of care. This position involves treating a diverse patient population with a variety of medical conditions and post surgical care needs. The medical surgical PCA provides direct nursing care in accordance with Bristol Healths established policies procedures and evidence based protocols. Tasks and responsibilities include: Performs a wide variety of patient care tasks utilizing a Patient Focused Care model. Follows standardized procedures prescribed in a clinical pathway including activities related to direct care diagnostic testing patient transport and documentation as directed by RN. Orienting and mentoring new team members following universal precautions utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

Educational / Minimum Requirements:

Basic life Support (BLS) Active CPR certificate required

High School Diploma or equivalent

Active CNA certificate or One (1) year of experience in a role as a PCA Ed Tech or CNA in acute or long term care. Good Communication Skills

OR

3rd year BSN student who has completed two clinical rotations

Medical Assistant

OR

EMT

Must be willing to be floated or reassigned to another department unit office or location as needed.
