SUMMARY: While delivering innovative solutions exceptional service and trusted results the Project Director will provide strategic fiscal and operational leadership of program and onestop and satellite operations. The Project Director maintains overall responsibility for program performance quality of service and contractual commitment. This role involves the implementation and delivery of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) adult and dislocated worker career services as contracted through the Summit and Medina Workforce Area Council of Governments (SAMWA COG).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct workforce services to enable the system to be consistent with plans and attain the established program goals ensuring compliance with all local state federal laws rules and regulations.

Provide general oversight and supervision to managers and functionally supervise all staff.

Lead staff development efforts and continuing professional development initiatives.

Participate in the recruitment interviewing hiring and training of all staff.

Evaluate assigned employee performance prepare performance appraisals recommend and document disciplinary action.

Ensure that a system of Performance Management is in place governing the tracking of individual and team KPIs.

Establish and maintain positive working relationships with funders employers state and local partners organizations and businesses in the community.

Orchestrate community events such as in person and virtual job fairs and information sharing sessions.

Represent KRA at conferences community events board meetings podcasts and on social media.

Oversee overall financial management for the projects/contracts assigned.

Supervise internal and external audits.

Prepare and distribute programmatic reports as directed by the funder and corporate senior leadership.

Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas both oral and written.

Excellent project time management customer service and organizational skills.

Excellent database and spreadsheet management skills.

Ability to professionally adjust to unforeseen circumstances or programmatic changes.

Ability to cultivate and manage high quality stakeholder relationships and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse workforce.

Ability to function at a high level of discretion and confidentiality.

Must be a selfstarter and committed to completing tasks timely which may include working additional hours and/ or over the weekend as needed.

Travel approximately 20% of the time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree in education public administration behavioral science or related field from an accredited college or university; Masters degree strongly preferred.

At least 5 years of experience in workforce development operations of employment and training programs and/or supervision of staff required.

At least 5 years supervisory experience required.

Demonstrated ability to manage and operate an effective adult learning workforce development or employment placement business.

Demonstrated competencies in communication strategic planning problem solving financial management and team leadership.

Experience working with adults in the workforce system and those disconnected from services.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Personal computer literacy required including the ability to navigate the Internet and intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Additionally the applicant has the ability to learn and efficiently utilize various case management software programs. Ability to work occasional weekend hours.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk sit talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
