SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific responsibilities of this position will include but will not be limited to:

  1. Technical Support: Provide firstline technical support to team members by diagnosing and resolving hardware software and network issues.
  2. System Administration: Assist in maintaining and configuring IT infrastructure including servers networks and cloud services.
  3. Hardware Maintenance: Install configure and troubleshoot desktops laptops printers mobile devices and other peripherals.
  4. Software Management: Install update and support software applications ensuring compatibility and functionality.
  5. Network Administration: Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN) wide area networks (WAN) and VPN connections.
  6. User Training: Conduct training sessions and create documentation to help team members understand and use IT systems effectively.
  7. Asset Management: Track IT assets including hardware and software inventory ensuring proper maintenance and lifecycle management.
  8. Data Backup and Recovery: Assist in backup processes and ensure data recovery protocols are in place.
  9. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Work proactively to identify IT issues develop solutions and escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
  10. Collaboration on IT Projects: Participate in IT system upgrades migrations and other technologyrelated projects.
  11. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with IT policies procedures and industry best practices while maintaining accurate records and technical documentation.
  12. Onboarding and Offboarding: Assist in setting up new team members with IT resources including user accounts hardware and software and ensure proper offboarding procedures for departing employees.
  13. IT Ticket Management: Assist with managing IT helpdesk tickets ensuring timely responses and resolution to technical issues reported by team members.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

The IT Generalist will report directly to the IT Manager and will support all IT functions within the organization. This position will work closely with all divisions and departments to ensure efficient and secure use of technology and systems.

SCOPE:

The IT Generalist will provide technical support maintain hardware and software assist in system administration and contribute to IT projects that enhance business operations. This role will require a balance of troubleshooting skills network maintenance and enduser support to ensure seamless IT operations across the company.


  1. QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field; or equivalent experience in an IT support role.
    2. Proven experience in an IT generalist or technical support role preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    3. Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware software and network issues effectively.
    4. Deep knowledge of networking principles system administration and IT security best practices.
    5. Experience in managing IT assets including hardware software and licensing.
    6. Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and IT requests simultaneously.
    7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
    8. Proficiency in IT helpdesk software ERP systems and remote troubleshooting tools.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    The IT Generalist at Gasser Chair is expected to perform job duties in an office and manufacturing environment. This role requires the ability to sit stand and move around the facility as well as occasional lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs. The IT Generalist must be able to work in various environmental conditions including areas with noise dust and temperature fluctuations. Occasional travel to other company locations may be required. Asset Management: Track IT assets including hardware and software inventory ensuring proper maintenance and lifecycle management.
