Microsoft Purview & Microsoft 365 Security Center Specialist (Moonlighting Opportunity)

Ideal for Moonlighting Professionals
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled IT security professional for a flexible role focused on Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 Security Center (Defender portal). This opportunity is ideal for professionals currently employed fulltime who are looking to contribute their expertise outside regular working hours.
You will play a key role in enhancing our data governance compliance and endpoint protection across Microsoft 365 helping us build a secure and compliant digital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Microsoft Purview (Data Governance & Compliance):

Implement and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.

Develop Information Protection strategies for labeling and encryption.

Monitor insider threats using Insider Risk Management tools.
-
Maintain compliance via Communication Compliance and audit features.
-
Classify and manage data through Microsoft Purviews governance features.
Microsoft 365 Security Center (Defender Portal):
-
Configure and manage Defender for Endpoint (EDR ASR vulnerability AV policies).
-
Administer Defender for Office 365 for email and collaboration security.
-
Contribute to Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Azure protection.
Collaboration & Support:
-
Coordinate with IT and compliance teams to align policies and reporting.

Support incident response for compliance or endpoint threats as needed.
Qualifications:
-
Handson experience with Microsoft 365 security tools (Purview & Defender).

Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g. GDPR HIPAA).

Familiarity with risk detection threat mitigation and incident response.

Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred:
-
Microsoft certifications (SC400 SC200 MS500).

Experience with Microsoft Sentinel or other SIEM tools.
Note:
This is a moonlighting position with flexible hours. It is best suited for professionals who can contribute parttime in the evenings weekends or outside their regular work schedule.
