The Opportunity:
The company is seeking a skilled and motivated Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering applied mechanics and simulation techniques. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative Finite Element Modeling (FEM) projects and contribute to the design and analysis test and evaluation of surface and submarine craft.
Responsibilities:
Conduct finite element analysis to evaluate and detail structural designs.
Develop and validate FEA models using software such as Hypermesh FEMAP or ANSYS.
Develop and analyze CAD models using SolidWorks
Prepare detailed reports and presentations of analysis results for stakeholders.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in FEA techniques.
Required Skills: Please have the following requirements listed on resume before submitting for position:
Must be a US Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
2 years experience with computer aided design (CAD) software preferably with SolidWorks.
2 years experience working with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software preferably Hypermesh but also FEMAP or ANSYS.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or a related field;
Mechanical/Structural Engineering background.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
2 years proven experience in finite element analysis ideally in a relevant industry (e.g. defense contracting aerospace industrial design marine engineering).
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired:
Exposure to ship design concepts/terminology would be a plus.
