Job Description

Great candidates for this position possess a depth of understanding for frontend design alongside computing fundamentals. You may have familiarity in iOS / Android domains; you are excited to learn about them irrespective. In addition we are looking for individuals who share our passion and desire to make a profound impact for our customers. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse business and technical partners to shape our technology.

You are an experienced engineering leader who can set the vision for more junior peers communicating well with stakeholders who may span across a number of organizations. You have a track recording for engineering excellence and delivering results through a variety of frontend software frameworks. You have a strong sense of ownership even when in highpressure situations.

Your responsibilities will include:
Driving strategic decisionmaking on critical UI feature development from design through implementation and to testing and deployment
Coaching and mentoring junior peers who share a common passion for frontend work but may have little to no experience in its development
Maintaining and raising the technical bar across all software development but in particular around frontend work as you work to help foster a frontend engineering community within UPMT
Working closely with software and science managers product owners and business stakeholders across different teams on a daily basis to define system architecture elaborate user stories and discuss business and technical tradeoffs

5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
Knowledge of web services technologies such as SOAP HTTP WSDL XSD and REST.
Experience in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns.
Familiarity with iOS Android and WebApp development platforms and languages.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
