Job Description

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Job Role

Understands and applies blueprints and technical diagrams.

Inspects electric components including transformers and circuit breakers.

Uses testing devices to identify and report electrical problems. Tests existing installations to determine faults and makes necessary repairs.

Installs repairs replaces and maintains electrical wiring systems and components. Installs EMT rigid conduit wire step down transformers and rigid conduit bending.

Uses hand and power tools.

Adheres to National Electrical Code.

Completes work orders on time.

Completes all required paperwork such as material counts materials used and time sheets.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Formal Education High School diploma or GED

Experience 56 years

Required / Credentials

  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Commercial and/or industrial electrical experience.
  • Knowledge of 480vac phase colors for 480volt 3phase and 120/240volt systems.
  • Very detailed oriented.

Not Required but Highly Desired Criteria

  • Some DC voltage experience preferred.
  • Power generation experience preferred.

Updating of Knowledge

  • Job requirements change requiring retraining to stay current every 12 years.

Responsibility for Change Innovation Overall Improvement and/or Effectiveness
