Job Description
The Archdiocese of Baltimore is seeking a Middle School Social Studies Teacher. The teacher would be responsible for all lessons in Social Studies to students in grades 6th8th. The middle school Social Studies teacher is responsible for implementing daily standardbased lessons to support students acquisition and application of the Social Studies curriculum aligned with the standards of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement engaging ageappropriate lesson plans for grades 68
- Teach topics such as U.S. and world history civics geography economics and government.
- Incorporate primary sources multimedia and inquirybased learning to deepen students
- understanding.
- Use a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction
- accordingly.
- Promote a classroom culture of respect collaboration and intellectual curiosity.
- Integrate technology and crosscurricular connections into lessons when appropriate.
- Maintain regular communication with parents guardians and colleagues about student progress
- and classroom activities.
- Participate in school events professional development and collaborative planning.
- Lead a school club
- Uphold the schools mission values and policies. Other duties as assigned from time to time
Position Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Elementary or Secondary Education (concentration in History/Social Studies preferred)
- Current MSDE certification
- Minimum of three years of experience (teaching middle/high school Social Studies preferred)
- Experience in a Catholic School setting is preferred
- Must be comfortable with technology include integration in daily lessons
- Must commit to Catholic School education
Pay Range: $48000$54000 Annualized
