Supports Portfolio & Program Management (PPM) Chief of Staff with strategic business operations creates efficiencies and optimizes ways of working across the Drug Development Organization.
Key Responsibilities
Provides operational support to manage PPM priorities objective setting execution and tracking. Supports planning of workshops development engagements team effectiveness. May support therapeutic area Portfolio & Strategic Operations Leads with similar duties.
Manages quarterly budget projections including resource requirements escalation of business risks and tracking of progress against goals. Tracks resourcing requirements and occupancy strategy in partnership with Human Resources.
Supports Program management for DD and PPM Events and leadership meetings ( leadership meetings town hallsspeaking engagements etc.)
Develops PPM leadership messaging (e.g. leadership change management messaging reinforcement of communications cascade from Enterprise Drug Development LT and PPM Head)
Manages business improvement initiatives to create efficienciesand optimize ways of working withinDevelopment org in partnership with crossfunctionalstakeholders.
Contributes to an integrated network across DD and the enterprise in partnership with R&D Comms Change management and other PPM Capabilities.
Supports interactions with key stakeholders across development and the enterprise (i.e. lead through influence)
Supports an integrated community of practice across DD Strategic operations and enterprise partners as appropriate to ensure consistency across the development organization.
May serve as a delegate to the PPM Business OperationsLead
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Business Management and/or advanced degree inrelated discipline preferred (e.g. Degree in Life Sciences(MBA MS PhD Pharm D). Project Management certification aplus but notrequired
57 years of experience withthe Pharmaceuticalindustry
Thorough understanding of companypolicies
Demonstrated innovation flexibility openmindedness andadaptability to meet objectives in a rapidly changingenvironment with shiftingpriorities
Track record of commitment to Quality in allareas
High proficiency in and demonstration of critical thinkingproblemsolving and decisionmaking
Anticipates needs and assesses and manages business andorganizationalrisks
Prior success in situations requiring adaptability/flexibility
Proven ability to selfsupervise and act independently toidentify/resolveissues
Ability to build trusting relationships leadlarge/complex programs and work across divisions diversebusiness backgrounds andcultures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with theability to interface with a broad range of internal and externalstakeholders at all levels of theorganization.
Excellent influencing and negotiating experience andcapabilities in a matrixenvironment
Exhibits confidence and professional diplomacy whileeffectively relating to people at all levels (internally andexternally)
Strong project management and execution skills.

Onsite Protocol
BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes siteessential sitebydesign fieldbased and remotebydesign jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:
Siteessential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Sitebydesign roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
