Overview:
Sentara is hiring a Medication History Technician for our Inpatient team at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center
Location: Williamsburg VA
Status: Flexi (4 hrs/ Week with opportunities to pick up additional hours)
Shift: Rotating
Hours: 10am11pm
Occasional Weekend and Holiday Coverage
The Pharmacy Tech II Clinical performs the technician responsibilities of clinical pharmacy care delivery under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
- Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently defined areas of pharmacy practice competently
- Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced clinical job positions
- Participates in the training of new employees
- Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technicians scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- Participates in clinical initiatives to continuously improve patient care
- Training in an advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician job function
- In addition to the above job responsibilities other duties may be assigned
- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
Education
Certification/Licensure
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
Experience
- 2 Years of Pharmacy Experience (Required)

We provide marketcompetitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$18.62 $27.92. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials standby/oncall overtime premiums extra shift incentives or bonus opportunities.
