As a Process Engineering Intern you will support mining and refinery process improvements assist with process modeling and contribute to ongoing site initiatives. This role provides handson experience in engineering applications within an industrial setting allowing you to develop technical skills and gain valuable insight into process optimization. Full time CoOp/Internship. Typically 3640 hours a week on site.

What will you do
Day to day work assignments assigned by the supervisor and could include:
Troubleshooting to identify root cause of problems in the phosphate processing and production.
Apply mass and energy balances to evaluate and optimize process efficiency across various chemical operations.
Support tactical projects in the dry side of Riverview addressing site ratelimiting factors to improve operational efficiency.
Gain exposure to production engineering and operations fostering a wellrounded experience across multiple disciplines.
Learn granulation processes to develop a strong understanding of production engineering and process optimization.
Assisting with equipment efficiency tests and developing a process flow diagram for a new opportunity
Utilize modeling tools to validate process improvements and assist in prioritizing projects.
Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization including management plant operators engineers (of various disciplines) lab personnel and contractors
Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
Adhering to Mosaics mission guiding principles and priorities and key competencies
What do you need for this role
Sophomore level by January 2026 or higher pursuing a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineer
Completed Material and Energy Balances class prior to internship/coop preferable
2.75 GPA or higher
12 years of experience volunteering working with student/school organizations or work is preferred.
Previous internship or coop experience is preferred.
Reliable transportation and valid drivers license You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
Ability to work full timeand be a student in standing at the time of the coop/internship
Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete thefollowing:Postoffer/preplacementdrug and alcohol screening background check physical functional capacity examination.
Basic computer skills are required.
Experience working in a team environment is a must.
Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.
Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.
Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
