The Regional Counsel is responsible for providing strategic and tactical legal advice to MMAs US/Canadian business advising its regional leadership teams assisting with commercial contracting and associated matters including being familiar with corporate privacy and technology law and related fields. Working closely with the business and other members of the Legal Team among other duties the Regional Counsel will:
Provide advisory services to assigned regional leadership teams
Review and negotiate a broad range of contracts for MMA including client service vendor and data privacy agreements
Provide implementation assistance and direction for spoke and fold acquisitions
Provide drafting review and integration assistance for M&A acquisitions
Coordinate with other Regional Counsel in developing and implementing crossregional initiatives
Communicate company and legal department policies and approval processes to inhouse clients
We will count on you to:
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive and senior regional leadership teams
Draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements with clients and vendors from all industry sectors
Contribute to Marsh McLennan Agencys acquisition strategy by providing drafting review due diligence and integration assistance
Advise on legal regulatory and business risks related to the Marsh McLennan Agency business
Contribute to and reinforce the Marsh McLennan Legal Compliance & Public Affairs (LCPA) Departments Strategic Plan and initiatives that impact the LCPA organization
Demonstrate strong written and oral communications skills
Collaborate effectively with business operations and legal and compliance colleagues
Promote an ethical culture where employees are encouraged to voice their concerns and opinions
Above all exercise sound judgment
What you need to have:
At least 7 years experience at a law firm or inhouse at a reputable company
Familiarity and experience with the insurance industry
Law degree from an accredited law school
Member of the Bar of a US state
